Job Summary: As Occupational Health and Safety Professionals at CMI, we prioritize the implementation of best practices, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, and cultivating a culture of safety enhancement in targeted projects and or facilities.
Responsibilities: Lead the management of the facility's health and safety programs, processes and policies.Oversee the Safety Committee and conduct monthly meetings.Commit to safety and health excellence.Ensure regulatory compliance, accident investigation, documentation and OSHA VPP efforts.Implement and enforce safety and health policies.Manage the safety training program, ensure completion of all relevant training.Oversee contractor safety performance, ensuring proper training and equipment use.Ensure fire system inspections, testing, and functionality.Contribute to lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvements.Requirements and Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of direct safety oversight experience in a heavy industry environmentExperience working in a waste-to-energy plant requiredMust be fluent in English and FrenchComprehensive understanding of General Industry standards (1910)Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesProven ability to collaborate with teams across all organizational levelsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applicationsEducation and Credentials: Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related fieldLean Six Sigma credentials highly preferredOSHA 30 General Industry certificationFirst Aid CPR AED certificationPhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walking.Ability to climb a ladder.Ability to stoop, crawl and bendAbility to lift up to 30lbsOther Requirements: Background check and potential drug screening required for the positionOvertime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demandsResidence within a reasonable commuting distanceThis job description is subject to change at any time.
