UES is seeking an experienced environmental scientist to join our team. The position is to be based out of our Houston office. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience conducting Phase I environmental site assessments, wetlands assessments, and/or related environmental due diligence activities.
\n ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), including site visitsReview and analyze environmental reports and studies, environmental data sources, databases Prepare reliance lettersClearly convey environmental information and regulatory requirements associated with property transactions and due diligence findingsInteract with clients and regulatory agencies including the TCEQ, USACE, and EPAWrite and produce scientific and professional reports EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:BS or MS in environmental science, biology, ecology, planning, engineering, or related natural science discipline5-7 years of experience in performing Phase I ESAsExperience in performing natural resource assessments, wetlands assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, and/or other related environmental due diligence activities an asset REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Legal authorization to work in the USValid driver's license to operate a vehicle in the US and a clean driving recordWillingness and ability to travel and work in various outdoor site conditions and project locations (30-60% field work, occasional overnight travel)Strong verbal communication and technical writing skillsStrong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving, and research skillsProven ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlinesExcellent time management skillsAbility to effectively work in a team environment with minimal supervisionProficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and Adobe AcrobatAbility to pass a workplace physical, drug screening, and background check
