Job Summary: The Electrophysiology focused Registered Nurse provides quality care to patients. Using the nursing process, the RN will assess and document the care of patients. Works cooperatively with ancillary staff, nursing, and providers to maintain standards. Promotes patient health by managing long-term patient care. Assists physicians in caring for patients with pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.
Job Responsibilities: Perform device interrogation clinics in various offices. Maintain appropriate patient records and document clinic visits. Enter device evaluations in EMR for clinical record.Review and follow up on escalated remote transmissions. Utilize Device Vendor Databases for escalated remote transmissions.Collaborate with office physicians regarding device management and concerns.Triage and assess patient problems/concerns while making sound nursing judgments. Demonstrate critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions that provide optimal and timely patient care.Perform wound checks on post-procedure patients.Educate patients on the importance of remote monitoring and utilization of remote devices.Coordinate follow-up plans with office staff to ensure that patients obtain follow-up visits and other treatments as needed.Adhere to policies and procedures of the organization, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality regulations.Maintain nursing supplies and anticipate needed supplies. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams, offices, and hospitals.All other job duties as assigned.Position Qualifications Required: Required Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of Electrophysiology, Cath Lab, or Cardiology experience (i.e., rhythm interpretations and device interrogation and remote transmissions).
Required Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Training / Certification / Licensure: Current State of New Jersey nursing license to practice as a registered nurse. Current CPR certification and BLS.
