The State University of New York at Oneonta is seeking a proactive leader to join our team as

Reporting to the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the incumbent will ensure compliance with federal and state employment and education law and SUNY and university policies particularly in the areas of discrimination. This includes coordination and investigation of complaints of alleged discrimination, periodic review of policies and procedures related to Affirmative Action, preparation of the annual affirmative action plan, the design and delivery of education materials and training to the campus community on issues related to affirmative action, equal employment, bias acts, and DEI-related trainings. The incumbent will also chair and coordinate BART, as well as assist in the development of DEISJ training for the university.
Serve as the university's chief civil rights administrator, ensuring compliance with federal, state, SUNY, and university policies related to employment and education discrimination.
Act as a liaison between the university and enforcement agencies.
Develop and deliver training content on civil rights and discrimination for students and employees.
Receive inquiries, concerns, and formal/informal complaints related to civil rights and discrimination.
Investigate complaints and compliance issues per procedures: plan investigations, interview parties, review evidence, and conduct legal research.
Provide conflict resolution services, including conflict prevention, mediation, and informal resolution assistance.
Collect and analyze data on discrimination to identify patterns and trends, and report findings as required.
Maintain confidential complaint records in accordance with policies and laws.
Ensure the proper implementation of affirmative action and equal opportunity policies across the campus community.
Attend training sessions to stay current on regulations and laws.
Collaborate with university stakeholders to promote EEO goals, ensure compliance, and keep stakeholders informed of legal and policy updates.
Prepare the annual Affirmative Action Plan and develop policies and communications for its implementation.
Collaborate with Employee Services and Accessibility Resources to implement employment and academic accommodations for employees and students with disabilities.
Chair and coordinate the Bias Acts Response Team (BART); provide training, lead meetings, support subcommittees, review reports, coordinate responses, and monitor trends. Organize and assemble BART response and support teams.
Assist with the development, coordination, and facilitation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice (DEISJ) trainings.
Serve on Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI)/Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committees and other university-wide committees.
Contribute to the overall success of the University by performing other related duties as assigned.
Salary:

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline.
Two years of relevant experience, including but not limited to working on Affirmative Action including investigations, and counseling.
Knowledge of EEO, ADA, and OCR.
Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact with culturally diverse individuals at all levels of the University.
Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of confidentiality.
Additional:
Demonstrated ability to maintain impartiality while working collaboratively with others.
Ability to work independently and make critical decisions with minimal oversight.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, gather/analyze data, and implement policies, programs, and procedures.
Preferred:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline or Juris doctor.
Experience working in higher education.
At least four years or more of successful relevant full-time professional experience related to Affirmative Action and Bias Acts investigation and response, including conducting investigations on discrimination.
Experience developing and facilitating workshops on DEISJ-related issues for broad audiences.
Experience in using restorative practices to resolve conflicts and build community.
