Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler ll for a contract opportunity in Memphis, TN.
SUMMARY:
As a Material Handler II you will perform an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock and other supplies utilizing a forklift, reach truck, dock stocker, and/or an order picker. Lead a safe, compliant, and profitable execution of all related processes and facilities continuous improvement. These duties will be performed according to established safety, security, and quality guidelines in our GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Conduct work in a safe and effective manner and take appropriate action to correct unsafe acts, systems, and procedures.
o Utilizing a forklift, reach truck, dock stocker, and/or an order picker you will examine, pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures
o Maintain inventory accuracy by verifying quantity, lot number, and product name
o Load and unload trucks, and ships, as needed via forklift or pallet jacks
o Wrap, weigh, & prepare shipments on skids/pallets
o Willing to cross-train and work in multiple areas of the warehouse
o Accommodate and carefully handle, and remove damaged products as necessary
o Participate in Continuous Improvement - PPI (Practical Process Improvement) events by entering JDIs and performing Gemba's
o Follow quality protocols, complying with Warehouse and Good Distribution polices and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
o Learn, adapt, and train on new concepts
o Processes cold chain products as required, in a -20 freezer and 2-8 cooler
o Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o 2+ years warehouse experience
o 1+ years forklift equipment experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
o High attention to detail
o Walk and stand up to six hours at a time
o Can interact and utilize WMS and RF scanning devices to perform entry level distribution tasks
o Ability to wear PPE as assigned
o Basic computer skills
o Good verbal and written communication skills
o Willingness to work weekends and overtime
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Ability to lift 50 lbs.
EDUCATION:
o Accredited High school diploma or GED required, or an Accredited Associates degree or higher preferred.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time; First Shift.
