Company Name: Osseo Job Description Description: A Student Management Specialist is someone who helps build and maintain relationships between students, teachers, and parents using restorative practices. They focus on helping students grow and improve their behavior by creating individual interventions. They also play a role in maintaining school-wide systems, structures, and discipline. Job Summary: Assist the principal in managing the middle school program Support teachers and staff who have concerns about student attendance, development, or discipline Coordinate efforts with guidance counselors, police liaisons, school psychologists, or social workers to improve student attendance and behavior Confer with families through meetings or communication systems to address student attendance and behavior Resolve student behavior concerns fairly and promptly, and keep records of disciplinary actions Monitor school facilities closely and follow-up on student vandalism Offer guidance on school district programs related to student substance abuse and truancy Suggest revisions to policies and rules governing student behavior Contribute to discussions about strategies to improve student performance, attendance, and development Assist in developing and implementing practices for campus control and security Maintain active relationships with parents, families, and students Help establish rules for students in the in-school suspension/detention room Respond to written and oral communication regarding student development and discipline matters Participate in committees and attend meetings as directed by the principal Take responsibility when all administrators are out of the building Perform any other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the principal within the position's scope Qualifications : Bachelor's degree required
