Estimator

- Prices labor and materials for fire, security, CCTV and card access systems based on customer design requirements, specifications, drawings and building codes.
- Does take-offs from drawings and prints to determine the number and types of devices that are going t be used, incorporates them into an actual system and puts together proposals for the customer.
- Maintains and archives proposals and bids for future actions.
- Maintains computer programs with current pricing and new products.
- Attends site surveys with the sales department to determine what is necessary to sell and install a job.
- Fills out material requisition forms.
- Assists the sales department on technical and installation issues.

Job Requirements

- Knowledge of fire alarm, security, card access and CCTV systems
- Ability to read and understand contract drawings and specifications
- General electrical/electronic background
- Knows installation practices and construction procedures
- Able bodied to be able to survey sites and perform job site inspections
- Good attitude
- HS diploma or its equivalent with 3 years of electric/electronic training
- 2-5 years of experience in estimating Life Safety Systems preferred
- Pervious experience in construction accounting preferred
- Installation experience and prior construction is a plus
- Able to lift up to 15 lbs at a time
