Estimator Position Overview: The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for construction projects. They will assess the scope of the project and review bids from contractors and suppliers. They will also prepare cost estimates for use in selecting contractors and controlling construction costs.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze engineering drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss and prepare estimates. Gather and review data pertaining to labor, material, and time requirements for projects. Compile estimates for project costs associated with labor, materials, equipment, services, and other related costs. Inspect project sites to determine project requirements. Perform cost and progress analyses. Review and evaluate estimates prepared by others. Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, and suppliers. Keep abreast of new technology, materials, and methods. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or other related field. At least 3-5 years' experience as an Estimator in the construction industry. Expert knowledge of estimating software and tools, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and CAD. Strong understanding of construction processes and methods. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Good communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
