EV Powertrain Engineer As a member of the
Mechanical Engineering team, you will play an active role in development of
electric propulsion systems for self-propelled rail vehicles. This position is
in-person and requires the candidate to be onsite in St. Louis, MO.
This position
involves working in a dynamic team environment on small (1-2) to medium (3-6)
person projects where excellent interpersonal and communication skills are
needed. Due to the research nature of the work, project objectives and
requirements are likely to evolve over the course of the role. A small
amount of domestic travel to support integration, demonstration and customer
engagement will be required.

Position
Responsibilities
Lead development of electric
powertrain systems for next-generation rail vehicles Execute conceptual and
detailed design tasks related to mechanical elements of the
powertrain/drivetrain system Design and development of
powertrain components including but not limited to electric motors,
gearboxes/transmissions, drivetrain suspension, drive couplings, cooling
systems, and enclosures Establish, manage, and
maintain vendor relationships for custom subcomponent manufacturing for
scaled production Design and implement
powertrain testing infrastructure, including test stand fixtures and dyno
equipment Design components for
manufacturing using high-volume processes Component analysis (Finite
Element Analysis (FEA) / Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) / Computational
Fluid Dynamics (CFD)) Complete Design Failure Mode
and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and other Advanced Product Quality Planning
(APQP) tasks Complete 3D mechanical design
using Autodesk Inventor and Fusion Complete 2D drawings Participate in design reviews
and peer reviews Collaborate with
manufacturing colleagues to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
requirements are met Basic Qualifications
(Required Skills/Experience)
At least a Bachelor's
degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing
engineering or a related field 3+ years of
experience in automotive, aerospace, heavy machinery or similar fields
with electromechanical/multidisciplinary product design U.S. Person
(immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided Understanding
of design for high-volume manufacturing processes Experience with
3D modeling software and GD&T Electric
Vehicle (EV) experience strongly desired Fluent in both
written and verbal English Preferred

Candidate should
have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:
Rail Vehicles / Rail Systems Vehicle Electrification /
Powertrain Design / E-Axle Development Demonstrated experience
working on project teams and collaborating with other engineering

typically 3 or more years' related work experience.
