The Department of Ophthalmology at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for 2 positions.
Interest in resident training to support our academic mission is considered a positive attribute.
Position 1 is for a full-time Comprehensive Ophthalmologist.
This position is primarily to provide outpatient ophthalmology services.
Operating room privileges are optional.
Candidates who desire operating room privileges should be able to perform a broad range of ophthalmologic operative procedures and provide a recent operative case list for review.
Position 2 is for a Glaucoma Specialist Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Glaucoma.
The successful candidate should be able to perform a broad range of glaucoma and cataract ophthalmologic procedures and provide a recent case list for review.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have an M.D.
(or D.O).Applicants must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.Applicants must be eligible for Minnesota medical licensure.Salary, benefits, and academic rank determination are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center is one of the largest Veterans Affairs ophthalmology programs in the United States.
Minneapolis is one of the Midwest's finest cities, a center for recreation, education, entertainment, and cultural excellence.
Both positions are eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
Candidates must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Approval, amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
