ABOUT THE YMCA OF THE EAST BAYThe YMCA of the East Bay is one of the largest YMCA's in the nation serving over 90,000 children, teens and adults in Alameda and Contra Cost Counties. To help reduce the incidence of chronic disease and the rising health care costs, the Y has worked actively to provide access to high-quality health and fitness resources through the five YMCA of the East Bay branches: Albany, Berkeley, Oakland, Pleasant Hill, and Richmond Parkway.
The work of the YMCA also extends beyond the walls of its fitness centers and reaches deep into East Bay communities, many of which are economically disadvantaged, and trauma impacted. Through its youth development/after school programs, the Y provides tutoring, counseling, and crucial support to students on 30 school campuses throughout the East Bay. These dedicated efforts are creating healthier school climates and helping to close the achievement gap by enabling East Bay youth to see and reach their full potential.
