Executive Director of Development , UCLA International Institute University of California Los Angeles Budgeted Pay Scale: $105,200 - $160,000 Annually Full Salary Range: USD $105,200.00/Yr. - USD $250,600.00/Yr. Position Summary UCLA's International Institute brings the world to UCLA and UCLA to the world. As Executive Director of Development, you will bring support for critically important work on global issues like climate change, public health threats, international conflicts and migration. The Institute's 27 centers and programs develop influential global leaders and scholars through research, graduate fellowships, language-study scholarships, and robust public event programming. As Executive Director, you will lead a staff in partnering with the Vice Provost to build and engage the Institute's strong donor base and community of alumni, friends and advocates. Qualifications Minimum of seven years Progressive responsibility and experience as a professional development officer or similar experience in a nonprofit, membership/volunteer driven or related environment. (Required) International experience, knowledge of diverse cultures, and intercultural communication skills, especially in relation to Los Angeles and California. (Required) Demonstrated experience in soliciting high-level major gifts and/or prior experience with solicitations of a similar nature, level and complexity. (Required) Expert knowledge of the principles and practices of major gift fundraising in a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity. (Required) Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement a comprehensive development or similar program of comparable size and complexity including the ability to envision and articulate future direction. (Required) Appropriate management and administrative skills needed to organize, direct, motivate and evaluate other professionals and volunteers; strong supervisory skills to oversee and evaluate the efforts of professional fundraiser. (Required) Excellent communication skills to express, both orally and in writing, the mission of the University and the fundraising goals of the campus, especially as they relate to the UCLA International Institute. (Required) Effective verbal communication skills to make persuasive oral presentations to senior management and internal and external constituencies; conduct participatory meetings; gain acceptance of decisions; and advise and collaborate with others. (Required) Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with academic leaders, faculty, staff, donors and volunteers. (Required) Strong strategic thinking skills aligned with the ability to implement and follow through. (Required) Steadfast commitment to work of impeccable integrity with strong analytical and organizational skills to develop creative, credible solutions, recommendations and programs as well to define and implement special fundraising and/or program related projects.
