About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President of Development, the

Executive

Director of

Legacy and Planned

Giving will

lead and manage a strategic and comprehensive centralized planned giving program that adheres to industry

best practices and oversee the planned giving responsibilities. The

Exec.

Direc

tor

is responsible

for

securing legacy gifts

to

Univer

sity

of the Pacific and stewarding long-term funding relationships. From a

portfolio of assigned prospects, the

Exec.

Director collaborates with other gift officers to secure new legacy

commitments and/or current gifts of complex assets and raises awareness of legacy giving within the Pacific

community.
The

salary range for this role is $

Responsibilities:
Provides department oversight and administration. Develops and implements an annual strategic business plan and budget for a multi-million dollar planned giving program. Leads and oversees budgeting, planned

giving program direction, planned giving policy adherence and life insurance program coordination.
Identifies

, Cultivates and Closes Planned Gifts.
Manages a balanced personal prospect portfolio of 50-75 prospects.
Structures and oversees planned gifts in coordination with outside gift administration company and planned

giving specialists and consultants.
Collaborates Across Departments and University-wide.
Oversees website content to ensure regular updates on rotational information and

assists

with the

development of a periodic newsletter by overseeing the research and writing of stories that focus on donors and

timely

gift planning topics.
Develops presentation information,

special events

and programs designed to train the professional

community and to market the University's planned giving opportunities. These programs include prospective

donor seminars, professional workshops, and seminars geared to key target markets (

e.g.

attorneys,

accountants, financial planners, bank trust officers, etc.).
Educates and motivates University Development colleagues to recognize planned gift opportunities and

communicate the benefits to achieve annual goals.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Seven (7) years of planned giving fundraising
One (1) year working closely with legal and financial professionals in designing and executing planned

giving instruments.
