Job DescriptionWhat you will be doing: Reporting to the Director of Group Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Direct and manage all activity related to the Sales department, ensuring all service standards are followedResponsible for achievement of individual goalsProvide guidance and direction in the development of segment action plansBe responsible for account management of key market segmentsEnsure the achievement of sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basisReview sales contracts, considering the number of rooms, average rate and total revenue objectives of the hotelParticipate in select sales activities both on and off propertyEnsure the integrity of key accounts, the key prospect database, and monitoring of the sales software programs for accuracy and thoroughnessBalance operational, administrative and colleague needsConsistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceConfirm all event-related information with clientsEstablish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during and post-conference, encouraging repeat businessOrganize convention bookings from date of booking to departure, including meeting requirements, guest room requirements, guest room pickup, food & beverage, and audio visualCreate floor plans for each event to ensure banquets and clients are in agreement prior to setupInitiate billing procedures, ensuring any deposits and/or credit applications are received with adequate information and within an acceptable time frameConduct pre-conference meetings with clients and pertinent departments to confirm all relevant details are communicatedConduct and/or attend daily meetings to review event contracts and ensure last-minute changes are communicated with appropriate departmentsFollow departmental policies and proceduresFollow all safety policiesOther duties as assignedSalary Range: $85,000 - $114,000 USD Gross AnnuallyQualificationsYour experience and skills include: Previous experience within sales requiredComputer literate in Microsoft Windows applications and/or relevant computer applications requiredUniversity/College degree in a related discipline preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal requiredStrong interpersonal and problem-solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Frequent standing and walking throughout shiftOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and rampsAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
