Experienced Accountant

Inland Truck Parts & Service, one of the largest independently owned truck repair companies in the United States, is now hiring an experienced accountant for our corporate office, located in Overland Park, Kansas. This rare opening is due to the retirement of a long-term employee. A successful candidate for this position will coordinate with staff in our various locations in addition to our Controller, to ensure that work is completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position handles a multitude of accounting activities including certain general ledger preparation, financial reporting, fixed asset tracking and accounting, year- end audit preparation and the support of budget activities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred but not required: BA or BS degree from an accredited college/university; CPA is a plus, but not required Management experience preferred, but not required Three to five years prior experience in the financial reporting / general ledger area Must demonstrate initiative & the ability to be a self-starter Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Effective & professional verbal and written communication skills Ten key by touch Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Strong ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines as necessary Able to make decisions Able to communicate effectively with staff and others Excellent problem solving skills Excellent attention to detail with minimal errors Professional courtesy, ethics and tact Able to work varied tasks and hours / days as needed to oversee month and year-end closings of financial statements Able to responsibly and honestly handle financial transactions Able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
