Atrium Health is seeking an Experienced GI Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for our Union West location. The ideal candidate will have at least two years in GI or in working with patients with chronic health conditions.
Job details: 100% Adult medicine Hybrid role – alternating hospital and clinic daily, onsite 8 am –4:30 pm Cover one holiday annually in the hospital No after-hours call needed Perform in-person patient evaluations and medication management for adult patients over 18 throughout the lifespan in the ED (Emergency Department), hospital, and clinic settings. Responsible for evaluating, stabilizing, and treating patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases. The GI APP will also aid with insertion, change, and removal of percutaneous gastrostomy feeding tubes. Responsibilities also include performing hospital consultations, daily rounds with progress notes, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, and patient/family education and counseling. Perform outpatient consultations and provide medical management and medications for adult patients over 18 with acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases. Who you are: Experienced APP with at least 2 years in Gastroenterology or experience working with patients with chronic health conditions. Nurse Practitioner – Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice needed. License to practice as a Registered Nurse needed. Certification in practice from a nationally recognized certifying body is needed. Acute Care board certification is optional based upon population and acuity served. Physician Assistant – Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program needed, Master's Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. APP who can show proper critical thinking and interpersonal skills APP can prioritize and make proactive decisions.
