Experienced Service Technician - Coastal Equipment (Yorktown)Technicians and other related service roles at John Deere dealerships play a critical role in providing exceptional service and support to our customers by performing diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and technical support on a wide range of construction and heavy equipment. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering top-tier customer satisfaction and upholding the high standards synonymous with the John Deere brand.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct equipment inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to identify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on John Deere equipment, including excavators, backhoes, dozers, loaders and skid steers in accordance with technical manuals and dealership procedures.
Utilize specialized tools and equipment to complete service and repair work, ensuring the highest level of workmanship and safety standards.
Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating repair processes, timelines, and recommendations to customers and internal team members.
Accurately document all service and repair activities, including parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings, using dealership management systems.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal technical training program in diesel, mechanical, or agricultural equipment is preferred.
4-6 yeras experience as a technician or mechanic, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy equipment, particularly John Deere products.
Strong understanding of diagnostic tools, software, and equipment, including the ability to interpret and act upon diagnostic codes and reports.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.Additional RequirementsValid driver's license and a clean driving record.Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 pounds) as needed.What Makes You Stand OutForklift operation certification for moving heavy parts.
Experience with John Deere Service ADVISOR or similar repair and diagnostic information systems
