\n ResponsibilitiesRecords transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software program.Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense.Works effectively within given budgetary parameters; assist staff in prioritizing and managing their workload.Prepares income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals, including federal and state tax returns for multi-state companies and consolidated returns for affiliated groups.Creates financial statements for businesses from analyzing transactions, reconciling bank accounts and making adjustments to journal entries.Conducts tax research to ensure compliance with tax law. QualificationsBachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Business, Business Management, Economics, Finance or in a closely related field.Either hold a current and valid CPA's license or be working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam.Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to complete work in an efficient and accurate manner.Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes.Occasional overtime work required throughout the year. Heavy overtime work required from January 1 to April 15, may be in excess of 55 hours per week.At least one year of work experience in public accounting or in a closely related occupation.Experience in preparing individual tax returns for clients.Experience filing corporate tax returns for LLC, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, and Non-profits. Knowledge of CCH Axcess, iChannel and SurePrep are preferred.
