What you'll do as a Telecommunications LinemanYou will install and repair aerial telecommunications cableYou will safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more You will safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and moreYou will direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelinesYou will safely work aloft using climbing hooks and laddersYou will work in multiple locationsYou will maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies What you'll need To be 18 years of age or olderAuthorization to work in the United States for this companyValid driver's licensePrior experience as a lineman placing aerial and underground telecommunication cable (fiber and coax) in OSP and ISP environmentsAbility to climb utility poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feetPhysical abilities & exposuresThis role routinely requires extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
