We are currently seeking a full-time Export Compliance Officer to work Monday through Friday day shift (on-site). This role ensures that the organization adheres to all relevant laws and internal policies. They are a technical professional proficient in the International Traffic & Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) & Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) Regulations. Roles and Responsibilities Establishes & enforces policies and procedures that support export compliance.Provides assistance to the company in all facets of export/import & regulatory compliance. Represents the Company as a technical expert when speaking with the Department of State, Department of Commerce & ATF Representatives.Applies for all export & import licenses, maintains required export and import documentation according to U.S. law and Company policy.Ensures that the export classification of each item that may be exported is current.Maintain a database of export classifications.Reviews international sales orders to ensure that proposed transactions are screened for Denied Persons and Entities, sanctions, restricted end use and diversion.Conducts random audits of export logs, shipping procedures and AES submittals.Manages customs brokers and export compliance consultant.Performs post-entry audits against customs broker electronic data, vendor and shipper invoices and import documentation. Resolves discrepancies and requests appropriate corrections as needed.Participates in the training of individuals and groups pertaining to export and import regulations.Reviews & maintains all NDAs for the Company and maintains log with status of expiration.Possesses strong research abilities.Continuous learner by showing commitment to staying updated on changes in export regulations and industry best practices.Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Continuously monitor the organization's adherence to regulations and report on the status of compliance efforts.Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor's degree in international business, law, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in export compliance, international trade, logistics, or a related field.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.In-depth knowledge of U.S. export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, and other relevant international trade regulations.Experience in the industry in which the company operates, such as aerospace, defense, technology, or manufacturing, is often preferred.Familiarity with compliance software, global trade management systems, SAP and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.Strong verbal and written communication skills.High attention to detail. Ability to meticulously review documentation and ensure compliance with all regulations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex regulations and apply them to company operations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, training materials, and communicating with regulatory authorities.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple compliance activities, deadlines, and documentation.High ethical standards and integrity to ensure compliance and handle sensitive information.Precision in handling and reviewing documentation and regulatory requirements.Proactive and ability to anticipate compliance challenges and implement solutions proactively.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment and prioritization skill.Ability to prepare and manage export documentation, including export licenses, shipping documentation, and compliance reports.Competency in International Trade Compliance, Incoterms, Valuation, Duty drawback, Export Administration Regulations, ITAR Regulations, and Customs regulations, product classification (HTS and ECCN).Knowledge of Customs regulations in countries other than the USA (NAFTA).
