Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, provide direct services and facilitate AIP groups for clients of the New Jersey Association on Correction Intervention Program. Provide periodic reports and coordinate with other staff throughout NJAC, CP& P, domestic violence programs, and other community agencies as needed. Ensure that services meet all appropriate professional standards, licensing/certification, and grant conditions, including cultural proficiency.
In conjunction with the Program Supervisor, ensure that each client is properly diagnosed and that treatment/groups are rendered in accordance with industry standards. Assist with establishing a plan of care and/or contribute to an existing plan to ensure that the client has access to all appropriate available services. Assist individuals in identifying their need for intervention services. Provide orientations, community education, and outreach. Make visits and presentations to various groups and organizations throughout the community. Research, develop, and distribute promotional materials and information that assist clients in making positive decisions towards violence-free lifestyles.
Maintain all records in accordance with NJAC and grant requirements. Identify client needs; develop plans of care; provide individual, group, and family counseling; monitor client progress; make appropriate referrals; and maintain proper case documentation and records. A thorough knowledge of the causes and effects of battering, domestic violence, and the methods and techniques of professional counseling is essential. Provide consultation and guidance to clients in addressing management issues, crisis intervention, and emergencies according to professional standards and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 40 hours of domestic violence training and intervention education. Other professionals with appropriate experience and training will be considered.

GENERAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in written and verbal communication is required. Attendance and participation in staff meetings and supervisory conferences throughout NJ is also required. The ability to observe and follow established administrative procedures. A valid operator's license and the ability and willingness to travel off-site are necessary. A flexible work schedule is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products.
