Job Description

Responsible for the proper maintenance of all guest and public areas of the hotel in adherence to franchise and corporate standards. This is varied semi- skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment. An employee in this class performs manual and semi-skilled work in several of the buildings and mechanical trades. Assignments may include routine preventive maintenance, assisting other skilled trade's workers and performing semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Repairs guest room locks and hardware.

Performs minor painting, wallpaper hanging and furniture touch-up.

Performs minor carpentry work including shaving doors, shelving, etc.

Fully understand and complete all repairs from the Preventative Maintenance Program and keep up-to-date records as required.

Fully understand the building plumbing system and make minor repairs. I.e. unplug drains.

Fully understands the hotel's heating and cooling system, in order to locate problems, make repairs, and regulate temperatures.

Must maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Must have a working knowledge of basic hand tools and other equipment including; brushes, rollers, scrapers, sandpaper, spray guns, lifts, etc.

Must wear required uniform; must maintain a neat, clean, and well groomed appearance.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Trade school graduate or equivalent experience.

• Three (3) years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.

• Must be able to safely and effectively operate hand and power tools.

• Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply technical material, schematics, and blueprints.

• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.

• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.
