The ideal candidate for this position would be able to diagnosis, repair, maintain, and perform general basic maintenance to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance. The Facility Technician would be responsible for providing advice to facility leadership about implementation of continuous improvement efforts, including implementation of health, safety, and environmental issues/feedback. The ideal candidate would be able to use a variety of tools, hand equipment, and machinery and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments.  Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions. RESPONSIBILITIESDiagnosis, repair, maintain, and perform general maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance. Perform and document preventive maintenance as required.Perform building and grounds maintenance including disposing of rubbish and waste materials, removing general safety hazards, and maintaining the overall appearance of the building/grounds. Give advice on technical specifications on new equipment and alterations to existing equipment and facilities, including health, safety, and environmental continuous improvement efforts. Work with third-party contractors and vendors.Handling emergency service calls after business hours.Observe appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services.Ability to use a variety of hand tools and operating equipment, including forklifts.  Other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONSMust be 21 years are older and be able to pass a background check.3+ years' HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical general basic maintenance experience required.Advanced experience with maintenance tools and equipment required.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal supervision.Strong service and quality focus.Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch.Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 or more pounds and regularly move up to 20-50 pounds.
