Facilities Technician The Facilities Technician will participate in the day to day maintenance needs of the gym, completing a wide range of maintenance tasks. The Facility Technician will assist in various gym projects, repairs, and may assist in special events or competitions outside of the scope of normal operations, as well as assess & repair worn/broken equipment, verifying quality of repairs and upkeep are of a high standard. This position will be at the Minneapolis location. We are looking for an employee who has enough experience in the world of general maintenance and repair to be self driven and sufficient while also being willing to ask for assistance and clarification. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL MAINTENANCE - General handyperson tasks throughout the gym including but not limited to basic electrical, basic HVAC, basic plumbing, drywall/finishes, climbing wall repair, climbing pad repair, basic IT troubleshooting, cleaning tasks, and a desire to learn! - Help with gym expansion projects as needed. - Maintenance, storage and staging of all gym tools and supplies. - Maintaining cleanliness and organization in all storage/work areas. - Promotes employee motivation, job satisfaction, and professionalism via dynamic interactions, positive feedback and creative problem solving. - Participates in regular meetings with the Facilities Manager. FACILITY SAFETY AND INCIDENT RESPONSE - Work in a safe manner at all times. - Comply with State and Federal safety regulations and MBP Safety manual and guidelines. - Familiarized with the Safety Manual and Emergency Action Plan, ensuring proper documentation of incidents via the incident report log. - Administers first aid in accordance with Safety Manual and MBP Protocol. - Maintain a safe environment throughout the gym. - Uses proper PPE and ladder safety techniques. JOB REQUIREMENTS - Flexible schedule including nights and weekends. - Self-motivated and able to see tasks through to completion. - Genuine desire to collaborate with others. - Effective communication. - Willingness to adhere to MBP policies and procedures. - Ability to lift 50lbs - Enthusiasm about working in the rock climbing/outdoor business. - 2+ years of construction and mechanical/electrical/plumbing/maintenance or comparable experience. - Willingness to perform manual labor tasks and learn safe use of tools and techniques for maintenance and construction. - Ability to research maintenance issues and source parts independently, providing purchase lists to the Facilities Manager for review and approval. - Willingness and comfort on ladders up to 20' extension ladder heights.
