Job Description: The Syracuse University Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) invites applications for a faculty developer specializing in students-as-partners (SaP) in higher education. This position will coordinate and expand the current CTLE Students Consulting on Teaching (SCOT) program; develop and direct additional SaP CTLE programs; develop and direct SaP-focused collaborations with other campus centers and offices; and create and facilitate SaP-focused and equity-minded professional development programs and resources drawing on evidence-based SaP scholarship of teaching and learning/scholarship of educational development and inclusive pedagogical practices. The successful candidate will be highly effective at communicating and collaborating with a variety of diverse constituencies (including undergraduate students, staff, and faculty); will actively contribute to a positive, productive workplace; and will consistently execute the CTLE's mission and vision.
Education and Experience: BA, MA, and college teaching experience required.ABD or earned doctoral degree preferred.One (1+) year of experience coordinating, overseeing, and assessing any type of SaP program in a higher education setting required, at least three years of experience preferred.Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in Students as Partners (SaP) scholarship of teaching and learning/scholarship of educational development.Demonstrated understanding of inclusive pedagogical practices.Record of scholarship of teaching and learning and/or scholarship of educational development, with a focus on SaP, preferred.Demonstrated success in highly collaborative professional environments and strong commitment to fostering a positive and productive workplace required.Ability to conduct outreach, communicate, and work effectively with a variety of highly diverse constituencies, including undergraduate students, staff, and faculty.Exceptional organizational and management skills, including the ability to self-direct, set deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and create and maintain documentation.Responsibilities: Recruit student and faculty partners for the Students Consulting on Teaching (SCOT) program.Maintain and update as needed online student consultant training modules.Schedule and facilitate in-person kickstart events for students and for faculty.Oversee the Student Consultant payroll; assist Consultants on an as-needed basis in partnering, communicating, and scheduling with faculty.Develop and maintain CTLE collaborations with other offices and centers engaged in Students-as-Partners (SaP) programs.Create and facilitate SaP-focused equity-minded professional development for Syracuse University staff, faculty, students, and graduate students.Participate in data analysis and reporting, including but not limited to gathering and making available for CTLE impact reports feedback from students and faculty.Other duties as assigned.Application Instructions: In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.
