The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time, board-certified/eligible Ophthalmologist on the Clinician Track at the rank of Assistant Professor.
We seek an Ophthalmologist interested in teaching residents and staffing a clinical practice, particularly in an acute clinic and hospital consultation setting.
Position Highlights Key responsibilities include supervising, mentoring, and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as well as developing curriculum.The clinical practice for this position will be focused on hospital-based and acute clinic ophthalmology care.The successful candidate will also engage in academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher, and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate's career interests and goals.Qualifications Graduate of an accredited ACGME Ophthalmology residency and/or fellowship training program.Board eligible/certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology.Licensed or ability to obtain the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.Pay and Benefits: This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $249,647 - $492,450, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
