SEND North is looking for pilots with a heart for ministry and service who are eager to live in an Alaska village. If you have aviation training but a heart for direct ministry, we would love to have you on our team! Your primary role will be to support local and regional church planting efforts through personal evangelism and discipleship. In addition to this direct ministry role, you will also serve as a regional pilot for SEND team members and partner ministries.
Terms: Long-Term (3+ years), Mid-Term (1 - 3 years)
Responsibilities: • Live in a hub village in bush Alaska
• Participate in church planting efforts both locally and throughout the region (ex: leading Bible studies, mentoring youth, leading worship, etc.)
• Partner closely with SEND missionaries in the region and other partner ministries for the advancement of the Gospel (ex: flying kids to Bible camp)
• Fly SEND aircraft according to our standard operating procedures and the FARs for mission purposes
• Provide encouragement and member care to other missionaries in the region through direct contact and logistical support
Qualifications: • Commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating (Airplane Single Engine Land)
• Airframe and Powerplant certificate valuable but not required
• Alaska and/or mountain flying experience preferred but not required
• Bible training and direct ministry experience
• Youth and/or music ministry experience preferred
• A deep desire to personally share the Gospel, help others mature in Christ, and see groups of believers established
• A commitment to working with a wide range of believers and ministries from different denominational backgrounds
