JOB QUALIFICATIONSCurrent Illinois RN LicenseBachelor's degree in nursing.
Master's Preferred.Combination of education and relative experience that provides knowledge, skills and ability to successfully fulfill job responsibilities may substitute.Certification in clinical area of nursing administration preferred.Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience.Supervisory or leadership role demonstrated in past experience.JOB DUTIESRegistered professional nurse who is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the growth and development of the unit's patient care services consistent with organizational goals and identified unit needs.The Birth Center Nurse Director will develop and mentor staff, ensuring clinical competencies and quality improvements.Administrative duties such as budgeting, staffing, and operations.Maintain relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop and implement policies and procedures by advocating for the rights and safety of patients and staff.Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Birth Center Nurse Director will provide multidisciplinary leadership and administrative authority for multiple patient care units and departments on a 24-hour basis.The Director will be supported by a tenured and experienced team of Labor and Delivery Nurses ensuring seamless operation and excellence in patient care.Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.West Suburban Medical Center provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
