Family Medicine Physician – Middlebury, Vermont Porter Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Medicine Physician to join its dynamic medical team. Practice Family Medicine as it was designed to be: provide continuing, comprehensive health care for individuals and families as a member of our vibrant Vermont community.
Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical examinations.Oversee a panel of primary care patients including management of results, messages from patients, and care coordination.Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, ranging in complexity.Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that encompass medical, lifestyle, and preventative measures.Manage an average of 14-16 patients per day, adjusting based on the complexity of cases.Demonstrate proficiency in patient-centered communication and provide clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes.Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records.Typical schedule: 4 8-hour clinic days and 1 administrative day, with some flexibility in scheduling.Participate in continuous medical education to stay current with advancements in medical knowledge and practices.Uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality.1:5 weekday, 1:16 weekend call (Outpatient only)Engage in teaching medical students.Qualifications: Board certification as an MD or DO in Family Medicine.Valid and unrestricted medical license in Vermont (or ability to obtain).Strong clinical acumen and diagnostic skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare.Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based care model.Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced clinical environment.Porter Medical Center is a 25-bed, Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with a state-of-the-art surgical suite located in picturesque Middlebury, Vermont.
