What We're Seeking: Detail-oriented individuals committed to delivering high-quality, consistent work Organized and motivated self-starter Enthusiastic about engaging with school and youth to promote agriculture in and out of the classroom Creative writing skills as an Editor of Fayette County Spokesman page Comfortable operating within a Microsoft Environment to support the works of the Fayette County Farm Bureau Board of Directors Proficient in navigating social media platforms Willing to collaborate with both staff and volunteers across diverse activities Confident speakers that are comfortable addressing groups of various ages Well-versed and interested in the agricultural industry Additional Details: Will consider full-time or part-time depending on candidate Limited travel primarily in Fayette County Based in Fayette, Iowa with programs conducted throughout Fayette County Flexible work schedule available after training completed Basic Function Perform communications and outreach duties on behalf of the County Farm Bureaus. Duties involve County Farm Bureau coordination of events including; Ag in the Classroom and public outreach coordination, communication with general membership, managing social media accounts, publishing articles for the Farm Bureau newsletter publication, telephone reception and facilities maintenance management. Classroom experience is not required but is a plus.
Essential Functions Maintain regular contact with supervisor regarding Farm Bureau activities Research, prepare, and submit articles to the newsletter Collect and enter member advertisements in the Spokesman Maintain a social media presence on important platforms Coordinate Ag in the Classroom opportunities within county school districts Membership data base updates and data mining Collect and process membership information or payments from renewing clients Coordinate activities and records for the county board of directors including; preparation of documents and materials for the County Board of Directors meetings. Examples include timely meeting notices, meeting minutes, preparing details for discussion topics, preparing agenda items, preparing refreshments, and follow up on details post meeting Work and communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business Serve as a positive liaison between supervisor, staff, volunteers, and affiliated companies
Non-Essential Functions Office phone coverage as needed Maintaining professional image of workspace and office Other duties as assigned Join us in making a meaningful impact on our community and advancing a deeper appreciation for agriculture among its residents!
