This advertisement is for an SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located in Region 1 in the Field Office. SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent in this position is expected to become familiar with the department's reentry initiatives; display leadership skills that demonstrate the department's commitment to reentry efforts for offenders while maintaining a professional demeanor.This position supervises MIS Services field staff as assigned that performs data processing functions for Region I, providing support at multiple sites, including Major Institutions, Community Corrections facilities, Regional Office, and other Department or related sites.The incumbent is responsible for computer equipment including the installation and post-installation support for computer hardware and software on distributed networks, local area networks, mainframe peripherals, telecommunications, and related software.Supervises MIS Services staff as assigned and is responsible for planning, designing, installation, and post-installation support for personal computers, distributed computer systems, and local area networks.Serves as backup to the Data Processing Manager for MIS Services, Software Manager, and Local Area Network Administrator for the Region.Supervises operational support and maintenance support for wide area distributed computer systems and personal computers within the Region.Responsible for supervising the maintenance of inventories of data processing hardware, software, and data circuits for the Region.Supervises computer security activities to include the establishment and maintenance of local area network and distributed computer systems users' security access accounts.Supervises the quality initiatives of MIS Services, maintains records and coordinates training activities for MIS Services staff assigned to the operational unit.BENEFITS: Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.Comprehensive health insurance and life insurance with accidental death and dismemberment benefits.Supplemental Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and Hospitalization insurance.Tuition-Free college courses.Retirement Plans with the Florida Retirement System:Pension Plan (Traditional Retirement Pension Plan)Investment Plan (401(K)-Type Retirement Plan)Deferred Retirement Option Program (Drop)Deferred CompensationRecently Retired?
