We are seeking a full-time Federal Criminal Defense Associate with a minimum of one year of
relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in criminal law, with a
particular focus on federal matters, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality
legal representation to clients facing complex criminal charges. This position requires an in-
office presence in Washington, DC, and offers an opportunity to work closely with seasoned
attorneys on high-stakes cases.
Key Responsibilities:Represent clients along with senior attorneys in federal criminal matters, including pre-trial proceedings, trials, sentencing, and appeals.Review and analyze extensive digital discovery productions.Conduct thorough legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and federal sentencing guidelines.Draft and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda, with meticulous attention to detail.Assist in the preparation for court appearances and advocate on behalf of clients in federal court.Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed of case progress, potential outcomes, and strategies.Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, investigators, and support staff to develop case strategies and gather evidence.Manage case files, ensuring organization and adherence to timelines and deadlines.Assist senior attorneys with negotiations of plea deals, diversion programs, or other resolution options where appropriate.Qualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the DC Bar (or eligibility to waive in).Minimum of 2 years of experience in criminal defense, with a strong preference for federal criminal defense experience.Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Strong oral advocacy and courtroom skills, with the ability to effectively represent clients in high-pressure situations.Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and handle a diverse caseload.Commitment to protecting clients' rights and upholding high ethical standards.Additional Skills:Familiarity with federal sentencing guidelines and procedures.Experience with complex federal cases, such as white-collar crime, drug trafficking, conspiracy, or public corruption, is highly desirable.Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
