Insight Global is seeking a FERC Financial Reporting Accountant to sit onsite 5 days a week at a Midstream oil and gas company in Downtown Houston.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Reporting Analyst will spend majority of their time on regulatory reporting and analysis with a small percentage spent on typical accounting processes and procedures with accruals and reconciliations.
Prepare and submit quarterly and annual FERC and state financial reports.
Collaborate with other teams to ensure the accuracy of reported financial statements.
Analyze financial statements and provide reporting explanations for variances and fluctuations.
Perform monthly account reconciliation and resolve outstanding reconciling discrepancies.
Process month end journal entries.
Perform data calculations to accurately determine the amount for accruals.
Assist with preparation of required audit documentations.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in an oil and gas regulatory reporting, FERC, SCC, GAAP, analytical reporting role
Financial reporting and accounting knowledge and background with account reconciliation
Strong Excel knowledge, and experience working with any ERP system
Bachelors degree in any discipline, business preferred
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Form 2 or form 6 filing experience
