Fiber Characterization Lead Technician

Summary: We are looking for a Fiber Characterization Lead to oversee our fiber cable analysis and testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fiber optics and cable technology, along with a strong background in both laboratory and field-testing methods. This role will involve leading a team of specialists and working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure our fiber cables meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage fiber cable characterization projects, ensuring timely and accurate results.Develop and refine testing methods to evaluate the performance and reliability of fiber optic cables.Coordinate laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.Analyze test data and present findings to stakeholders, offering insights for product improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to establish specifications and performance benchmarks.Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians on fiber cable testing techniques and best practices.Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies in fiber optics.Qualifications / Skills: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Masters preferred).Extensive experience in fiber optic technology and cable characterization methods.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.Proven leadership and project management skills.Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
