What you'll do as a Fiber Splicer IIPerform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and undergroundTest, activate, and troubleshoot the network's circuit post-installationEnsure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standardsUpgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheathsMid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheathsCut away the sheath from existing cables to reach faulty connections, and remove the sheath and insulation from newly installed cables and wires Provide guidance to other splicers, as neededComplete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checksDocument work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage recordsWork 10-12 hour shifts Occasional night cuts What you'll need To be 18 years of age or olderAuthorization to work in the United States for this companyHigh School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experienceValid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving recordMust be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical cardAt least two years of fiber splicing experienceAdditional qualificationsKnowledge of telecommunications network structureKnowledge in testing and equipmentAbility to read and interpret schematics and job printsPhysical abilities & exposuresRoutinely: operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, repetitive hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 poundsOccasionally: work in confined spaces, use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles, keyboard and mouse#IND1Why work with usYour career here is more than just a job - it's your pathway to opportunity.
