Field Equipment Support Technician
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Join our team and provide technical support to internal equipment operators through strong communication & collaborative relationships with Breeding, Field Solutions, Plant Health, Biotechnology, Market Development, and Climate organization.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Equipment Support Technician, are:
(Position will be in Whitestown, IN area.)
Provides remote and on-site mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics to operators of custom agricultural equipment;
Self-manages workflow and scheduling to keep field teams running;
Completes support request records and analyze workflow;
Works with Operators, other team members, Field Service Technicians, and Engineers to investigate systemic issues and help provide fleet wide resolutions;
Works with 3rd party equipment companies developing troubleshooting methods and solutions to share with team;
Provides scheduled and impromptu equipment and software training both virtually and on site to internal operators;
Performs self-audits of documentation and support links to keep information up to date and relevant while assisting in creating new documentation and training videos;
Handles responsibilities including helping with support ticket data, team schedule management, and arranging support team training.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree;
Valid driver's license (Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company's Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers;)
Possess or can acquire a Part 107 pilot license for operating UAVs;
Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons;
Ability to travel independently domestically (including overnight stays) up to 15%.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of relevant experience;
Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Agriculture, or related field;
Prior experience in precision agriculture, agricultural automation and/or machine learning/data analytics;
Ability to make machine setting adjustments on-site and remotely using xml or text file changes as well as the operator's user interface;
Ability to communicate and provide service through phone, Teams chat, texts, video conference, and email;
Ability to contribute to a rotating on-call schedule (including weekends and holidays as needed.)
Position will be in Whitestown, Indiana location.
