We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our service team. The Field Preventive Maintenance Technician performs service repairs and preventive maintenance on multiquip products, primarily on power generation both within field locations as well as within internal service centers. Providing superior service and representing Multiquip's professional and trusted support known in the industry.
Perform preventative maintenance on construction equipment according to Multiquip's established guidelines and service/maintenance schedules. Accurately identify and order appropriate/required items to complete general maintenance requirements. Ability to track and manage employee's specific inventory during inspection and repair processes. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, oil changes, filter changes, coolant drain & fill, load banking, DOT inspections and overall unit operation testing. Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction, with excellent work ethic, neat appearance and great communication skills. Ability to properly and completely fill out all hand written and electronic service reports, inspection checklists and timecards within department guidelines. Prepares and completes service reports in a precise and timely manner as required. Maintains supplies needed to keep job production optimized. Properly segment jobs and order parts accordingly Return unneeded parts immediately upon job completion, complete all necessary warranty documentation and send completed follow up forms on a timely basis. Effectively communicate job status to customers and office personnel. Works in an efficient manner; at customer's jobsite, in the shop and when driving to location or shop. Maintains Multiquip supplied tooling and equipment utilized within job function. Perform mechanical work relating to the business of the department. Coordinates and assists Lead Service Technician as needed Request equipment and or supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of the items required to complete necessary jobs. Participates in meetings and trainings as assigned for the purpose of conveying or gathering information required to perform job functions. Performs all work in accordance with Multiquip's established quality standards along with all safety procedures and maintains a clean and safe working environment. Must be able to communicate technical matters clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to operate and utilize standard computer programs such as all Microsoft Office tools, Adobe Acrobat, webbased service tools and reporting tools. Performs other duties as assigned by the employees' manager/supervisor. Works overtime as needed to meet customer expectations. Accountable for meeting labor flat rates and quality repair. Report inaccurate flat rates and situations when flat rates will not be met to your manager/supervisor. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or (GED) equivalent; Minimum of 2 years of experience on current (2020 and newer) small to medium construction equipment. General Engine and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience preferred. General operation of power generation equipment preferred. Skills, Abilities and Tooling: We are looking for a dedicated individual who is a team player with a positive attitude. Is mechanically inclined and eager to learn the equipment for future growth opportunities. Is detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy for each job. Is able to read and interpret documents such as equipment and environment safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions as well as written procedures to include troubleshooting flow charts and equipment service manuals. Ability to perform high quality repairs, in an efficient fashion, and maintain a clean working environment while working in the field. Has great overall understanding of complex and/or logical functions. Laptop – Has basic level of windows 10 and Microsoft Office tools. Has the ability to travel to job sites for repairs and work independently, maintain flexible hours, work early or evening hours, overtime and overnight travel if needed. Must have all standard tooling to complete repairs. Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:
Valid driver's license and good driving record.

The employee will occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Working outdoor in various environmental conditions.
Compensation and Benefits: Starting Rate: $28-33 an hour (DOE) Company Vehicle will be provided. Company Credit Card to cover business-related expenses.
