Field Service Engineer

KDF Technologies is a leading manufacturer of PVD (physical vapor deposition) capital equipment to the semiconductor and telecommunications market. Located in Northern NJ, we serve a variety of industries and companies from startups to Fortune 500 organizations. We currently have an immediate opening for a Field Service Engineer.

Responsibilities:Install and repair KDF PVD equipment at customer sites.Train customers both in the field and in the factory on proper operation and maintenance.Travel to customer sites for warranty and paid service visits.Interface with customers and suppliers in a professional manner.Recommend and sell parts and service.Prepare service reports and other supporting documentation related to customer interactions.Provide technical support to customers via Internet, phone, and email.Perform complex electrical and mechanical alignments and calibrations on KDF equipment at KDF factory.Host customer acceptance test visits at KDF factory.Advise and work with KDF sales on possible new system orders.Interface between customer and KDF application lab to help resolve process issues.Work with engineering to resolve technical and assembly items.Able to lift up to 50 lbs.Follow company policies and procedures.Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:A.A.S. degree in Technical or Mechanical discipline.Proven experience in field servicing industrial machinery or equipment, preferably in semiconductor.Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to work with minimal guidance.Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with technical customer base and factory.Willingness to travel to customer sites U.S. based, travel approx. 50%.Company offers a full benefits package which includes company paid medical/dental insurance, 401k plan, paid vacations, and sick time.
