As a Field Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our field operations team, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial equipment at client sites throughout the United States and other countries.
This role requires experience with and expertise in electrical and mechanical systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Travel will vary but expect to spend 75-90% of your time on the road.
There will be weekend work involved at times with up to two weeks on the road at a time.
For times when you're working on extended trips, commensurate time off will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Installation: Supervise and assist in the installation of electrical systems, including wiring, calibrating of sensors, VFDs, and motors.Service Work: Perform preventive maintenance and inspections independently or as part of a team to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of electrical and mechanical systems and components.Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues by interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and utilizing diagnostic tools to ensure quick and effective repairs.Teamwork: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, project coordinators, and installation supervisor to support electrical system upgrades, installations, preparation work ensuring all work aligns with project timelines and specifications.2
Training: Provide hands-on technical support and training to client personnel on electrical systems operation, maintenance practices, and safety protocols.Safety: Strictly follow safety procedures and adhere to regulatory standards while working in various environments, ensuring a safe workplace for all team members.Who You'll Work With:
Engineering – Designs our systems, including electrical and mechanical details, to ensure proper functionality based on the customer's needs.Project Management – Oversees projects from sale to handover, ensuring tasks are being completed within budget and ensuring timely delivery.Project Coordination – Creates the project plans, interacts with vendors to ensure equipment arrives in time.Customers – Interface with plant/maintenance managers and sometime the customer's corporate project management or corporate engineers.Contract labor – Aid in directing subcontracted labor to identify what we need to start up and operate the system.Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial electrician or controls technician, with a strong emphasis on PLCs and automation systems.Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical documentation.Hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical and control systems in industrial settings.Ability to travel extensively and work independently or as part of a team in diverse locations.Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.Strong commitment to safety protocols and best practices in industrial environments.Flexibility to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet project deadlines.
