About Us
MC Squared is a professional consulting engineering firm specializing in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection and Pavement Design and Management with offices in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
Our clients include DOT's, municipalities, state agencies and large multi-national engineering firms.
We are retained by our clients to provide innovative solutions to complex subsurface issues to support the design of heavy civil infrastructure projects in the Transportation, Water/Wastewater, Tunneling, Dams and Aviation sectors, as well as provide cost-effective solutions for structures, commercial developments, and educational institutions.
MC Squared has experienced growth year-over-year for the last several years and our current in-house projects and backlog show the trend will continue.
RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct construction material tests for concrete, soil, asphalt, etc., including determination of moisture content, liquid limit, plastic limit, particle density, particle size distribution, dry density ,etc.
Conduct aggregate tests including sieve analysis, fine passing, silt content, relative density & water absorption, bulk density, moisture content, L. A. Abrasion, etc.
Conduct concrete tests including concrete mix design, determination of slump; density of compacted fresh concrete; test cubes from fresh concrete; density of hardened concrete, compressive strength of concrete ... etc.
Conduct building stone tests including flexural strength, modulus of rupture, compressive strength and absorption and bulk specific gravity.
Execute tests in accordance with relevant standards and procedures to ensure quality results.
Use appropriate protective tools to ensure safety requirements are met.
Test stores and logs samples; retrieves cylinders from field projects; and dispose of tested samples.
Any duties or responsibilities assigned by the management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONMust have a minimum of high school education.
(Some college education is highly desirable) Work Experience 0 - 2 years of experienced with soils, masonry, concrete, and asphalt testing for field operations.
Structural Steel Inspection experience is a plus.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal and written communication.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSCertified with ACI, NDG, CTQP, and NICET in Soil, Concrete, and Asphalt.
(Desirable but not required.
