Field Technician

Field Technician needed for an opportunity with SOC's client to work in Fairbanks, AK. You will be supporting multiple programs/systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) who can perform installation and maintenance on a variety of Networking and Telecommunication equipment at customer locations. The position requires daily commuting to and from customer locations (indoor & outdoor) within your assigned area. Field technicians must be able to work independently with little supervision and possess good written/verbal communication skills. Responsibilities Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADSB, DCNS, WMSS and others) supports for the FAA. Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers remote locations. Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area. Occasionally travel to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or request. Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders. Qualifications Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Experience with logging into network equipment and circuit testing using a verity of different test equipment/laptop. 3- 5+ years of experience working with fiber, Carrier Ethernet, Multiplexes, DACS, Routers/Switches, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice, and Data applications. Must be customer focused, have outstanding organization/time management skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, and the ability to function independently as well as part of a larger team. Organization skills are essential. Thorough knowledge and working ability with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Web usage. Must have excellent writing and spelling abilities. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly rate range for this role is $31.00 to $45.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
