Position Summary EBI Consulting is seeking an entry-level trainee for a Building Hazardous Materials (Asbestos, Mold, Lead, Radon, PCBs, other Hazardous Building Materials) Inspector Technician. As there is substantial room to grow and advance in the position, Individuals with any level of experience will also be considered. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
The entry-level candidate will be given training and mentoring for a couple months by a Program Manager with nearly 20 years of experience in the same field. The initial employment objective is to obtain Connecticut state licensure to perform asbestos and mold assessments of housing, commercial and other facilities.
Once you are licensed, you will have the opportunity to continue mentorship as a Technician and Junior Project Manager for asbestos, mold and other hazardous materials inspections, abatement management and design. You will be responsible to perform or manage local inspections. As your project management capabilities grow, you will have the opportunity to work with more experienced project managers and with sub-consultants and subcontractors to manage EBI's work that is being performed locally and nationally. EBI has a variety of local and regional work that allows the Technician/Project Manager to learn and perform a variety of scientific studies, with a mix of field and office work. You will have the opportunity to support Operational and Business Development initiatives as part of the development of your portfolio of Environmental Consulting skills. This position offers the opportunity to grow into project management, senior project management, account management and additional business development roles.
This position reports to a local Program Manager within the Building Sciences group and is designated as remote/work from home. The initial clientele this position supports are located in Hartford, Connecticut, so candidates will need to already be established in Connecticut or the southern border of Massachusetts . There will be approximately 75%+ daily and local travel expected to be successful in this position, at least in the first year, so candidates will need to be comfortable with local traveling as part of their responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute project scope and work, revise as appropriate for project success Oversee and ensure inspections and meet project deadlines, complete duties on time and on budget Expected to manage multiple projects/assignments concurrently Set expectations and communicate assignment status to clients and internal management Coordinate with field staff, outside consultants, subcontractors, and laboratories Qualifications and Capabilities High school, community college or college degree. All should apply . Candidates with more experience should also apply and will be equally considered. Connecticut or other state-licensed Asbestos Inspector is a plus.
