Primary Purpose: Assist campuses with purchasing, budgetary and travel needs to ensure compliance with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) financial accounting and reporting system.
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
Ability to review and interpret budget requests and account codes to remain in compliance.
Knowledge of computerized financial systems and/or Skyward preferred
Ability to interpret and implement policy and procedures
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
Ability to use software to develop or maintain spreadsheets and do word processing
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines
Experience: 1-3 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
1-3 years in public education setting preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Assist campus principal with the purchase of goods and services in accordance with campus budgets and charter guidelines.
Assist campus principal and campus admin with coordination of campus travel needs.
Assist campus principal with maintaining accurate receipt and expenditure of student activity funds.
Assist campus principal with field trips, fundraisers, and online payments.
Coordinate transfer of funds between accounts with the Business Office as needed.Assist with creation and printing of campus budget reports for Principal as needed.
Assist with campus budget preparation.Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.Ensure prompt acknowledgement and response to campus/principal requests.
