.Performs all corporate accounting functions related to the company's major costs, expenses, revenues and receivables, including development and monitoring purchase to pay of improved internal accounting controls. Determines impact and develops procedures to ensure proper accounting for changes to existing gl, purchase to pay (PtP), revenue and receivable systems - e.G., statement billing and customer premise devices. Develops enhanced reconciliation procedures for accounts receivable, including identifying required systems and programming changes. Reviews requirements for possible general ledger interface of billing and accounts receivable systems. Ensures that corporate requirements are met for decentralized accounting functions. Researches the most complex technical accounting questions and recommends best alternative by maintaining technical proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles. Recommends, develops and installs new or modified accounting methods, procedures, and systems through interface with and consideration of the impact on other FedEx departments. Conducts, or may control the completion of, special studies and projects as directed by management. Provides external and internal auditors with various workpapers, analyses, and information as requested. Prepares draft financial statements for one or more Latin America operation under the proper accounting framework. Analyzes, develops and maintains operational procedures to ensure protection of company assets. Supports the monthly expense forecast process. Consolidation/ combination of the P&L of various Latin America entities. Analyses data to understand and explain variances between current period actuals, forecast, business plan and prior period actual.- 5 year experience in accounting or external audit.- Degree in Accounting.- At least intermediate English (600 pts TOEIC).- Advanced Excel (Power BI desirable).- Oracle, preferred.- Professional accounting experience in a large public accounting firm or in a complex accounting environment in a for-profit company, including exposure to accounting systems.- Proven experience in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), IFRS For Small and Medium Entities (IFRS for SMEs).- Familiarity with Accounting for international operations preferred.- Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.Technical and social skills- Strong quantitative skills, capable to use data to support business decisions.- Proactive, self-learner and organized to manage different tasks & projects.- Team player, hands on.- Good communication skills: capable of summarizing complex and complicated accounting issues and explaining these clearly to various audiences (Officers, Operations, and other FedEx departments)
