We are seeking a highly skilled

Financial Counseling

professional to join our team at South Shore Health.
As a key member of our patient access department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our hospital through excellent customer service skills and a deep understanding of insurance plans.
Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Education
Provide education to patients and families on financial obligations and policies.
Collect co-pays via cash, check, credit card, and reconcile receipts.
Insurance and Benefits
Screen patients for eligibility for Financial Assistance and public assistance programs.
Assist patients in navigating the Medicaid and State-Federal Disability process.
Technology and Learning
Participate in continued learning and possess a willingness to learn and utilize new technology and procedures.
Unit-Specific Functions

This position requires a strong working knowledge of the Virtual Gateway system, Medicaid, and State-Federal Disability processes.
The ideal candidate will be able to navigate and process applications, communicate effectively with patients and families, and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
Excellent customer service skills, medical terminology, and computer skills are essential for this role.
