Your Role
The Cost of Healthcare Finance team provides reporting and analysis to support proactive management of the cost of healthcare.
Financial Analyst, Consultant  will report to the Senior Director Cost of Healthcare Finance.
In this role you will be performing financial analysis and supporting cost of healthcare initiative development and implementation.Your Work
In this role, you will:

Provide managed health care subject matter expertise by participating in, leading, or driving various company projects
Scrub raw source data, translate into data models to facilitate analytics of emerging utilization and cost trends
Develop reports and dashboards to meeting business unit, management needs
Run related monthly production processes on an agreed upon schedule
Reconcile data results from different sources and combine them into integrated reports spanning cost, quality, utilization, and risk profile metrics
Develop financial models; collect and evaluate data, analyze results
Provide analysis to identify root causes and help with the identification of implementation of steps to resolve them
Identify utilization and payment outliers
Participate in internal workgroups to provide analytical insight and support for the implementation and enhancement of new programs, products, and services.
This may include interactions with internal and external customers to define analytical needs and specifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
Possess the process knowledge and people skills to complete accurate assignments and communicate results
At least 5 years of managed healthcare experience including health plan operations and regulatory requirements preferred 
Intermediate experience with specific systems key to role (e.g., Oracle, Essbase,  SQL)
Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vLookups, etc)
At least 5 years of experience using/querying data from healthcare transaction system preferred

Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $109,340.00 to $164,120.00 for California.
Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade.
Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
