Job Description
Financial Analyst sought by Soapbox Soaps, LLC, in Washington, D.C., to sustain the company's financial strength and provide the necessary expertise to support the company's growth. Responsibilities will include general accounting data and record-keeping, managing forecast systems, processing business transactions, necessary reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with day-to-day financial transactions.
Soapbox Soaps, LLC is a socially-conscious company, dedicated to producing personal hygiene products while making a positive impact on communities. For every Soapbox product purchased, the company donates a bar of soap to someone in need, whether locally or internationally.
Role Accountabilities: Provide financial information to senior management to identify issues that impact financial results. This includes brand profitability, customer profitability, and product mix analysis. Work with the Controller to create immediate and future strategies for the organization's fiduciary planning, procurement, investment, and budgeting activities. Review past and present data and the organization's projected future financial health to help management craft sound strategies for fiduciary growth. Ensure quality and accuracy of financial statements and financial reports. Ensure Accounting and Operations areas run smoothly and efficiently. Abide by all company procedures and accounting principles. Assist the CFO by overseeing accounting, billing, collections, and financial reporting functions. (including Invoicing A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition). Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position. Support the preparation of the budget and financial forecast, and other relevant reports. Update ledgers, research, and resolve discrepancies. Oversee the training and development of accounting staff and delegate duties with the objective of meeting departmental and organizational goals. Evaluate the finance department structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group, as well as providing individuals with opportunities for professional and personal growth. Ensure good communication and respond appropriately to vendor, customer, and internal requests.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance or business, or related or foreign equivalent, and 12 months of experience as a Financial Analyst or related role. Understanding of the general record-keeping processes and the month-end/year-end close process. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills, QuickBooks Enterprise strongly preferred. Advanced Excel skills required, including pivot tables, macros, and other advanced functions.
