Financial Manager University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: 37396 Salary: $4,700 - $11,717 monthly Position Description: Incumbent is to serve as the Financial Manager for the UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry, National Center on Race and Digital Justice, DataX, as well as for Professor Safiya Noble and Professor Sarah Roberts and related projects under their respective direction. All initiatives are currently housed in the Department of Gender Studies under the Division of Social Sciences. Incumbent oversees a multimillion-dollar portfolio of various funds (Gift funds, Foundation/Donor, intramural/extramural grants and contracts, university state/departmental funds). Responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations; generate and analyze regular and customized financial reports for departmental budget, provide short and long-term fiscal planning, monthly reporting on accounts, which includes operational revenue, expenses and projections. Incumbent works closely with the Chief Administrative Officer of Gender Studies with departmental financial decision making; develops on-line reporting systems to facilitate the unit with budget development and monitoring; performs ad hoc analyses to assist CAO with budgetary direction; prepares and forecasts annual budgets for the PIs and the Dean's Office. Incumbent is responsible for establishment, monitoring and ensuring proper handling of sub-awards and/or payment agreements, purchased services contracts, and other vendor agreements with other universities and institutions. Monitor and reconcile ledgers for diverse portfolio of funds, make appropriate proactive adjustments and projections; Process Fellowships for post doc students and graduate students; Generate financial reports for operational and research accounts as needed, tracking expenditures and projecting expenses. Incumbent is responsible for processing financial transactions for purchase, reimbursements and travel using various UCLA systems; Responsible for fiscal closing year end activities; Serve as liaison between UCLA departments and outside vendors and clients. Incumbent also works closely with the Executive Director, Senior Financial Manager, and other staff involved in finances.
