Position Summary:
Hillwood Communities is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team as a Manager.
The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial principles and business operations.
Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
Partner with business units to establish financial targets, assess performance against goals, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to perform scenario analysis and support strategic decision-making.
Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis to evaluate actual performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
Identify key drivers of variances, assess risks and opportunities, and communicate findings to senior management.
Provide actionable insights to drive performance improvement and optimize resource allocation.
Management Reporting: Oversee the preparation of management reports, executive dashboards, and financial presentations.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Synthesize complex financial data into clear and concise narratives, highlighting key trends, performance metrics, and strategic implications.
Strategic Planning & Business Partnering: Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive business growth and profitability.
Provide financial guidance and analysis to support decision-making on investments and strategic priorities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Project Management, Marketing, Accounting, and IT to align financial plans with operational strategies.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage and develop a team of financial analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the FP&A team.
Set clear expectations, establish goals, and ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial planning processes, systems, and methodologies.
Implement best practices, automate routine tasks, and leverage technology solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of FP&A operations.
Drive initiatives to streamline reporting, optimize resource allocation, and mitigate operational risks.
Required Skills/Abilities:Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting techniques.
Advanced proficiency in Excel required; knowledge of financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) is a plus.
Strong understanding of financial principles, including GAAP, financial statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team of professionals.
Proven track record of driving strategic initiatives, influencing decision-making, and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically, anticipate business needs, and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.
Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) and professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, planning, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
Experience in a corporate FP&A environment preferred.
