Job Summary: Gulf Coast Industrial is currently seeking a Fireproofer Apprentice.
This position is responsible for assisting the Fireproofing Applicator install fireproofing materials on industrial steel to the required specifications designated by the material manufacturer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Comply with all manufacturer's specificationsWork closely with and assist fireproofing applicator with their dutiesFollow all GCI's, Contractor's, and governmental safety requirementsPerform work in accordance with Contractor SpecificationsTake direction from fireproofing applicator to learn the proper tools and equipment to use for specified tasksAssist in receiving and unloading trucksMust be able to use a mechanical sprayer to apply SRFM and able to diagnose any small issues as well as breakdown and clean equipment dailyWork off scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolding.The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.Other related tasks as required.

Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:

Ability to apply SFRM per manufacturers recommendations preferred.Ability to read and write and interpret spray charts preferred.Must be able to understand oral and written instructions, sketches, and diagrams.Ability to work from scissor lifts, boom lifts and scaffolds.Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel often in confined spaces.Work in an indoor and outdoor environment including field, yard, and shop locations.2+ years of spray experience preferred.

Travel:

Work will be at one location.
